Hudu

Before you start

• A Hudu API key. The connection form says it is found in Hudu under Admin > API Keys.
• Your Hudu address, for example https://your-hudu-instance.huducloud.com. Self-hosted Hudu addresses work too.
• Your PSA connected first, so Hudu companies can be matched to PSA companies.

Connect Hudu

1. Open Setup → Configuration → Integrations, then select Hudu under Documentation.
2. Enter the Base URL (just the host name; the API path is added automatically) and the API Key.
3. Select Test Connection. A successful test is required before you can save.
4. Select Save Documentation Connection.

One documentation provider is active at a time. If IT Glue is connected, the page says so, and saving switches ZenTop Triage to Hudu. To replace a stored key later, select Update Existing API Key.

Once Hudu is connected, the same page shows the asset layout, sync, and company mapping settings described in Documentation KB.

What ZenTop Triage syncs

ZenTop Triage reads from Hudu and indexes content for search. It never writes anything back to Hudu.

Content	What is indexed
Articles	Articles of mapped companies, indexed under that company, plus articles that belong to no company, which appear for every client. Archived and draft articles are skipped. Articles have no toggle.
Assets	Assets in the asset layouts you turn on. Each layout is off until you enable it. Assets without a company are skipped.
Companies	Used only to match content to PSA companies.

Anything from a company that isn’t mapped is skipped.

How often. A sync runs automatically every day at 02:00 UTC and picks up what changed since the last successful sync. Start Sync runs the same incremental sync on demand. Turning an asset layout on adds its assets at the next sync. Toggling a layout does not start a sync by itself.

Map companies

Content is indexed only when its Hudu company maps to a PSA company. The Hudu Company Mappings table shows each company’s match, using this order:

1. Manual: a PSA company you chose for the Hudu company.
2. Hudu integration: the link from Hudu’s own ConnectWise or Autotask integration, whichever is your connected PSA.
3. Name match: an exact match of the company name to a PSA company name or identifier, ignoring case and extra spaces. A name shared by more than one PSA company does not match.
4. Unmapped: no match; the company’s content is skipped.

With HaloPSA, Hudu’s integration links are not used, so map companies manually or rely on name matches. Mappings are read at the start of each sync.

Troubleshooting

Message or symptom	What to check
“Invalid credentials” when testing	The API key is wrong or has been revoked. Enter a new key with Update Existing API Key.
Hudu returned a status code, or a network error	Check the Base URL and that Hudu is reachable.
Could not load documentation asset types	The connection no longer works. Test the connection again.
High skipped counts after a sync	Content from unmapped companies, assets without a company, and archived items are skipped. Review the company mappings.
No assets indexed	No asset layout is turned on.
